the wise chief

An african chief worried about which of his three sons to give his kingdom to.
He wanted to choose the wisest of them.He gave them each a basket of cowrie shells .
He told them to buy something to represent the best and worst thing in life.
the first son discussed the problem with some merchants.
he decided the best thing was wealth and the worst was poverty. He bought another basket of shells. the second son asked some artists for advice. He bought a beautiful statue and and an old cup to represent beauty and ugliness.
the third son asked a wide variety of people.
He bought a tongue because our words can be used for the best and the worst things in life.
The wise chief gave his kingdom to his third son.
